15 lbs to lose?

Hello,

My wedding is coming soon. it's in May. I joined the gym last week because, let's just say, I have gained 15 pounds in the last two years. My job changed. I used to work with kids, so that kept me in shape and i was eating right and working out. now, I don't eat right and do not workout. This Sunday, I got an evaluation by my trainer. He said, "you need to eat 1,100 calories a day or 900 if you want to push it." I said what??? When i was fit, i weight 124 lb. The trainer said I should be at 120 lb. well, 120 lb I said. I don't want to look like an Olsen twin. He said I will look fine at 120 given that I will have muscle weight. And my current body fat is 21% and it should be at 18% when i reach my goal. My current weight is 135 lb. I have only gone up a size. I'm 5'9. Today i started my diet of 1,100 calories a day. I will do cardio 5 times a week and weight training 4 times a week. I have a workout session with my trainer tomorrow. I might buy some training sessions with him. To have a trainer, is costly. o boy, my pocket book. But I don't want to spend the extra money on a trainer when i can do it on my own. What a girl to do?

  1. 1,100 calories a day is very low if you're working out 5 times a week. I think the lowest is 1,200 and that without working out maybe you should get a 2nd opinion. I think 1,500 calories a day is much healthier. good luck!

  2. thanks for the info. i only do 40 min of cardio. last week i went 2 times to the gym, but this week i've gone three times so far. i plan to stay on a 5 to 6 day workout plan.
